:Bolero:

A slow, quiet remembering of years ago
my body moved with elements of Mona Lisa and fervrent
rush of hands and bodies pressed in tango
then recall the rush, that addictive undercurrent
suddenly spilling over, pulling me close into you
the sway, the step, giving over into this
escalation, exclamation, trilling notes on cue
almost pause, but there is no stopping this, overflowing tryst
Spin me round, losing direction, kissing eyelids, you
then a floating, my mind replaced with oxygen
your arms, your lips, I'm falling through
then quiet and echoes of the silence, and we're drifting through each other once again

Another Creative Writing assignment: write a poem as an interpretation of a song. Not about the song, but more like transposing the song into poetry.
I chose Bolero. Not the infamous Bolero, but another song by the same title - this one from the ending credits of the movie Moulin Rouge.
I also listened to Passion from Kingdom Hearts II, by Utada Hikaru.
I laughed when I turned this in, because I wondered if my teacher would think I was writing abotu sex. I was actually visualizing a dance, but the two are rather alike in a way, especially with the dance I envisioned.
